TRiP Foundation’s Panama Projects
Panama is a country of striking contrasts, modern cities alongside deeply underserved communities. While tourism plays an important role in the country’s economy, many women living in marginalized urban areas continue to face systemic barriers to education, employment, and economic independence.
Where Sidewalks End stands firmly behind our TRIP philosophy: Travel Responsibly, Impact Positively. As part of our commitment to ensuring a positive impact from our guests’ travels, we donate 2% of the gross sales price of every tour or experience booked through Where Sidewalks End. *
We support a social, environmental, or community-based project in the country our guests visit. These donations are made by us, on behalf of our guests, at no additional cost to them.
As local representatives working closely with communities in Panama, we believe responsible travel should help create long-term opportunity and stability, especially for women who are supporting families and shaping future generations.
All funds collected for Panama through the TRiP Foundation are donated at the end of the calendar year to the following project:

About this Organization
Fundación Calicanto runs CAPTA, a personal and professional training program for women living in marginalized communities in Panama City. The program combines psychological development with technical and vocational training, helping women build confidence, strengthen life skills, and gain practical qualifications for employment.
CAPTA focuses on breaking cycles of poverty by addressing both emotional and economic barriers. After completing an intensive foundation cycle, participants receive vocational training connected to the hospitality sector, leading to recognized certifications and real employment opportunities. Since its creation, the program has supported nearly 1,500 women, many of whom are heads of household.

- Creates Access to Employment – Provides vocational training and certification linked to jobs in the hospitality industry.
