Day 2 – Xochimilco waterways
Today, our Fearless & Far tour will take us to the picturesque area of Mexico City called Xochimilco, where we’ll enjoy a three-hour trajinera boat tour. This unique and colourful experience takes place on a boat where we’ll party with live mariachi music, delicious snacks, mezcal, and cervezas. It’s a great opportunity to let loose, have fun, and soak up the lively atmosphere of Mexico City. After the tour, we’ll visit a traditional pulque cantina to sample this iconic Mexican drink and learn about its rich history.
Day 3 – Mexico City – Experience a city of Food and History
Today we will take a sensory journey through Mexico City’s vibrant food scene. We’ll begin the day with a visit to the bustling Mercado Merced, where you’ll have the chance to taste and discover the flavours of traditional Mexican cuisine (including some things which may make you squirm a little, but are delicious!). You’ll explore the market’s colourful stalls and sample a variety of local delicacies, from street tacos to exotic fruits.
In the afternoon, we’ll embark on a walking tour of the Centro Historico district, home to some of Mexico City’s most iconic landmarks, including the Zocalo, the largest public square in Latin America. As we wander through the city’s historic streets, you’ll learn about the rich culture and fascinating history of this unique destination. It’s a day that’s sure to tantalize your taste buds and leave you with a deeper appreciation for Mexico’s vibrant culture.
Day 4 – Hot Air Balloon Ride over Teotihuacan Pyramids!
On the next day of our Fearless & Far tour, prepare for an unforgettable experience as we visit the awe-inspiring Teotihuacan ruins. We’ll start the day with a thrilling hot air balloon ride over the pyramids, offering a unique and breathtaking perspective of this ancient site. Afterwards, we’ll explore the ruins on foot, learning about the fascinating history of this once-great city. After a busy (and early) morning, the afternoon is yours to explore the vibrant city of Mexico. Take the time to wander through some of its many parks, museums, or food stalls, and make your own discoveries. Whether you choose to relax and take in the atmosphere or dive into the city’s bustling energy, you’re sure to find something that speaks to your interests.
Day 5 – A lost pyramid, Aztec Dance Rituals and a Mexican Sweat Lodge
On this day of our Fearless & Far tour, we’ll be embarking on a unique and exciting adventure to the Cerro de la Estrella. This hike will take us to the top of a mountain in the heart of Mexico City, where we’ll discover a lost pyramid with breathtaking views of the city. After the hike, we’ll continue to a friend’s home where his family will host an Aztec Warrior temescal ceremony (sweat lodge), an ancient tradition of the indigenous people of Mexico. You’ll have the chance to learn about Aztec pre-Hispanic dances and immerse yourself in this unique cultural experience. As the day winds down, you’ll have the option to join us for a mezcal tasting in the evening, a perfect way to cap off an unforgettable day.
Day 6 – Luchador Wrestling training and a VIP show!
Get ready for a day of action and excitement. We’ll start the day with a lucha libre training experience with real-life luchadors at the famous Arena Mexico. Learn some of the signature moves and techniques from the masters themselves, and get a behind-the-scenes look at the world of Mexican wrestling. After a fun-filled afternoon, we’ll attend a VIP lucha libre show, where we’ll have the chance to meet some famous luchadors backstage and take part in the most unique and special experience of all: getting some luchador training with an official coach and a luchador. Whether you’re a lifelong wrestling fan or just looking for a fun and unique way to spend the day, this is an experience you won’t find anywhere else!
Day 7 – Empowerment sessions and fire-walking!
As our Fearless & Far tour comes to a close, we’ll have a free morning to relax and explore at our own pace. In the afternoon, we’ll travel to an eco-park, where Mike will give an empowering talk and share the lessons he’s learned throughout his travels and from your own experiences of the past week.
As the sun begins to set, we’ll participate in a guided meditation, surrounded by the beautiful natural scenery. For our final activity, we’ll be taught how to do fire-walking over hot coals with an expert fire walker. This incredible experience will allow us to face our fears head-on and leave our comfort zones behind.
We’ll return to the city for a farewell dinner and to celebrate our week together, forever changed by the amazing experiences we’ve had on this unforgettable tour.
Day 8 – Departure Day
No Activities are planned for today – you will make your way back to CDMX Airport, or continue your journey through Mexico with all the new skills and lessons learned from your week of fear-facing empowerment in Mexico City!
What to bring to the Fearless in Mexico City adventure?
This is the basic list of what we suggest you bring with you. We will provide a more detailed suggested list prior to your departure:
– Jeans or long pants (this is most customary in Mexico, though shorts/dress are fine if you are most comfortable in that).
– Sneakers/comfortable shoes.
– Long sleeves or bug spray (there could be mosquitos where we are going).
– A reusable water bottle and shopping bag (let’s reduce waste where we can, leaving only footprints).
– Covid Mask (though not mandatory in Mexico, some local shops and venues still request it at times.
– Cash. It is up to you how much you wish to bring, for your personal expenses, and if you’d like to convert any cash before you come or withdraw money out of an ATM (we recommend a mix of the two).
– a sense of adventure and an open mind! Probably the most important element of your visit – we want to encourage and inspire you to break out of your comfort zone and get the most out of your trip. Of course, you can opt out of any activity you don’t feel comfortable with, though we are confident of their safety and would not put you in harm’s way if we didn’t stand behind the activities you will be experiencing.
